There’s a slight danger of looking like I’m running a nature blog with this and the last few posts to the various Real World social network pages, but the Kingfishers that have come to live around the mill pond are an amazing sight and it’s tempting to keep trying to improve the images I’ve managed to capture of them.
They do make me wonder why blue is associated with being ‘low’ or ‘down’ -they’re as vibrant and up as anything I’ve encountered today, although some fish may disagree.
A few years ago, before anyone seemed to think it was a good idea I would walk around Real World every day and take photographs, putting together a page which was I think simply called ‘Today at Real World’. On a slightly more sporadic basis I’ve been renewing the activity to give the various entities an excuse to post on their various pages - it’s also a good excuse to get some air and see what takes the eye.
As I walked around a flash of blue caught my eye and I just managed to capture a technically dubious, but still magical gimps of a Kingfisher skimming the bank of the mill stream.
