iChat, two cameras, Peter Gabriel and Guy Garvey - we thought we’d try a different approach to getting two musicians in the same room. Inevitably there were a few technological hiccups
This is a little teaser edit I put together to trail the full conversation which will be released on http://petergabriel.com in the coming weeks as more of the material we’ve been creating around Peter’s New Blood record finds it way into the world.
Real World Records have just posted a little montage I put together of an afternoon at The Fish Factory studios with Portico Quartet. Unlike most media destinations with post industrial names, The Fish Factory name bears some relevance as entrance to the studio is gained through a purveyors of all thing fish - along with a great variety of seafood, boneless mutton legs and Halal whole chickens n’ breast.
September 2nd was an unexpectedly hot day, a fan was working overtime to pull air into the control room and not having much impact, but Greg was recording some great sounds - final overdubs that were coming out of the much cooler performance spaces.
Just over two weeks later and they’ve set up camp just behind me in The Big Room here at Real World to mix the record - it seems the swan may not be too happy about it.
