I’ve worked on a few projects with Justin Adams, both with his JuJu hat on, and most recently photographing the recording sessions for Robert Plant‘s new album where he shares the guitar honours with Liam “Skin” Tyson. In this short film, one of a series relating to sound and music I and the team at Real World Records are creating for Bowers & Wilkins Society of Sound, Justin explores the power of distortion.
Why do we love the power of distortion? Justin Adams, one of the UKs most original guitar players who has collaborated regularly with Robert Plant, Jah Wobble, Tinariwen and his JuJu partner, griot Juldeh Camara, tells the story.
Real World Records is 25 years old and is marking the occasion with the release of a 3CD set. I’ve been rummaging in the dark corners of the archives to put this video together, giving a taste of the label.
